It could be that the remaining 30% is of the actual installation, while the previous was downloading, and you're just being impatient since it does take awhile to install, but I don't know how long you've waited at that mark. Maybe it cleared the local cache between download attempts instead of retaining it (I dunno, I always kept it on because of reinstalls).Īnother thought is that due to the Humble Bundle deal going on, the service is currently flooded, but that shouldn't prevent you from getting to 70% *8* times. Off the top of my head, it should resume the download instead of restarting from 0%, but you could try toggling the retain downloaded files option somewhere. I have dead space 1 and 2 where at most I needed to log in within the game with an EA user account which was easier than forcing peoples using 2 platforms same time.I got DS3 through Origin, but I can't recall any difficulties downloading and installing it at all. But i was just interested in how owning the same game works on both platforms. I'm not planning to buy this game steam, because i alredy own it origin. Thank you for letting me know, I have user accounts on steam and origin. Personally I would buy it direct from Origin, but that's a personal choice. If you buy on Steam and you don't have an Origin account then you will have to sign up for one I assume.

However BOTH Steam and Origin will be required to play the game and afaik you must launch it from Steam. If you but on Steam then yes, there will be an icon for it on Origin. I have Dead Space 1 &2 on Steam and 3 on Origin which is what I personally prefer, so what you choose is up to you. It depends on the game though, for eg I have Mad Max on both Steam and Origin and they are completely separate. I have a couple of games on Steam that do this which is why I don't like it.
